What is STEM?
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Why was Art added to STEM?
In our program, we added Art because as it is about creativity. By adding this element, children can use both sides of their brain—analytical and creative— it actually creates a person more ready to meet the ingenuity demands of our economy (Forbes, 2020).
How does STEM education improve student learning?
These are the classes that help children develop a foundation of critical thinking and the capacity to think outside the box with creative solutions as they progress through the grades. Children who practice play-based learning and, later, inquiry-based learning, develop skills to help them succeed in life, including:
Questioning
Reasoning
Drawing Conclusions
Theorizing
Collaborating
Exploration
These are all critical thinking skills children need so they can put what they’ve learned to practical use. They can learn to master these skills in our STEAM Star online workshops.
